The IMA together with the Märklin Show– an event for the whole family
The model railway event of 2017 is getting closer and closer. The 34th IMA and 11 th Märklin Show are taking place together from 15 -17 September in Göppingen. Here´s the initial information for the event.
This is where you can see the railway giants of steam from below! Walking along the 50- and 70-metre-long railway trenches is a gripping experience. Something else well worth looking at is magnesium welding.
In addition to the accessible railway trenches and the shuttle journeys to the station by rail car there are exhibitions, and the technology forum together with an exhibition of old machines, and for three days a limited minting of the Märklin 2017 medal showing the BR 75.
The model railway radio channel Fips transmits on the wavelength VHF 89.0.
Major attraction: over 200 rail car shuttle trips at the IMA 2015.

Staufer Park at a glance
Model railway and accessory manufacturers from A-Z, the Märklin stand with up-to-date novelties, the diorama competition, a large stage for shows, a bobby car track and a marvellous children's programme. And very important, the Start up Club stand! This is where you´ll get your club present.
This is where the Frisch Auf! Göppingen handball team has its home court.
The sports centre of the arena is more or less dedicated to the LGB model railway range. Here you can see construction details and admire the latest LGB models as well as many displays.
It's not only children whose eyes sparkle when they see the valuable treasures from 150 years of Märklin.
In the special area for children there's a lot to see. An exhibition of historical fire fighting vehicles, a Märklin H0 layout, a child care area and unique Märklin exhibits which you can't see anywhere else! Not only that, the children can really let themselves go on the 5 inch steam railway and the bobby car bouncy castle.
As soon as you smell coal, steel, oil and steam you know you´ve arrived at Göppingen station. Because this is where the railway giants come: the steam locomotives. Among others are the BR 01, BR 44, BR 52 and the BR 75. The S 3/6 is particularly worth seeing. But also the electrically powered locomotives, e.g. the E94, and diesel locomotives. In some cases you can ride in the driver's cab. As you might expect there is a range of powered rail cars and many special trips on offer.
You can look behind the scenes here and see the Märklin production live. On Friday and Saturday you can visit the Märklin factory and see the company´s production departments. From 9 a.m. until the last entry around 3 p.m. the factory in Stuttgarter Straße is open for all IMA visitors.
