IMA and the Märklin days

The 32nd edition of the IMA and the 10th edition of the Märklin Days took place between 18 and 20 September in Göppingen.

 

LEONHARD-WEISS-AREA

Here you can look at the railway giants from below. Walking across the 50 and 70 metres long vehicle pits is an exciting experience. Also an exciting matter: watch how to weld magnesium.

In addition to the walkable vehicle pits, the shuttle services towards the railway station by means of the railbus and the exhibition on magnesium welding, there is a technical forum with the exhibition of old machines. Another highlight: the Märklin medal 2015. The issue is limited to three days. The medal shows the series 57.5 locomotive.

Are you ready for a car race? You can have much fun with the vehicle by Tamiya and Carson on the scales of 1:10 and 1:16. As of September 14, the model railway radio will broadcast on VHF 89.0.

STAUFERPARK GÖPPINGEN

The heart of the great days in Göppingen. On 9,000 m² you will see any novelty in the "Accessory" and in the model railway sector. More than 100 exhibitors will be there, numerous exhibition layouts are presented inside an extra tent. There you can admire the different track gauges. Here you can also see the best show pieces of the diorama competition.

Model railway and accessory manufacturers from A to Z, the Märklin booth with recent news, diorama competition, large show stage, Bobby-Car course and great activities for children. And very important: the Start up Club booth. There you will get your club present.

EWS ARENA

The homestead of the Frisch Auf! Göppingen handball players. The gym of the arena is completely under the banner of LGB. There you can gain impressions of construction and admire the latest LGB models.

The top figure on LGB: 1,000 square metres of exhibition area or the E 94 088, Year of construction 1943.

 

MÄRKLIN MUSEUM

Valuable treasures of 150 years of Märklin history not only let light up the children‘s eyes. Young talents can tinker and try out the my world models in own children‘s area. The visitors can admire the H0 exhibition layout which was completely rebuilt in spring 2015.

GÖPPINGEN RAILWAY STATION

If you smell coal, steel, oil and steam, then you know that you are at the Göppingen railway station. 

For here come the old railway giants: the mighty steam locomotives! Among others, the 01 150 and 01 180. But not only them. There are also electric and diesel locomotives. With some of them you can ride inside the driver‘s cabin. Of course, the offer spans different railcars and many special trips.
